Minimally invasive circulatory support for coronary artery disease.

A small heart pump allows patients in critical condition to be treated and complex coronary interventions to be performed with maximum safety.

Overview

The Andreas Gruentzig Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories team has a wealth of experience and expertise in performing highly complex coronary artery procedures. This includes life-saving interventions in patients with cardiac arrest, severely altered coronary arteries and severely impaired cardiac function. In these cases, cardiovascular support systems help us maintain blood flow to organs during the procedure. The most advanced cardiovascular support system is a heart pump inserted through the groin, which thus supports the heart in its function. For this procedure, the groin is desensitized with a local anesthetic so that you do not feel anything from the procedure.
