123I-IBZM can be used for differential diagnosis of idiopathic Parkinson's disease and atypical Parkinson's syndromes.
Furthermore, 123I-IBZM is useful for the diagnosis of neuroleptica-induced Parkinson’s disease. An already performed Datscan is an important prerequisite for an examination with 123I-IBZM. Before an examination with 123I-IBZM, various medications must be paused, sometimes for a longer period of time. You will receive detailed information about this after registering for the examination with 123I-IBZM.
Even though 123I-IBZM is not approved in Switzerland, an examination at our clinic is possible under certain conditions. The compulsory health insurance (basic insurance) is not obligated to cover the costs – therefore a cost approval from the health insurance is necessary if the examination is to be paid by the insurance.
