This method is used to determine the sentinel lymph node in various tumors in order to surgically remove and histologically examine it.

At the beginning you will get an injection of the radioactive tracer in the region, where surgery is planned. Scans will be acquired until the sentinel node appears on the images taken. The whole procedure will take approx. 1 hour.
No side effects are to be expected. Please inform us if you suffer from any allergies. The radiation dose of the examination is comparable to one to two times the natural yearly radiation dose in Zurich. The examination can also be performed in children.
