GLIODRIVE – Fitness to drive in patients with glioblastoma after standard therapy

In order to enable patients with a tumor in the brain to drive, minimal requirements are needed to ensure safety on the road

Aim of the study

The research project investigates the reliability of the selected driving fitness tests in brain tumor patients with regard to road safety.

Who can take part?

Patients with glioblastoma

Procedure

If you wish to resume driving a car after completing standard treatment for your brain tumor and at least one year after your last epileptic seizure, you will be invited to undergo the following standard examinations to check your fitness to drive:- EEG (brain wave curve)- Neurological examination- Visual acuity including visual field examination- Neuropsychological examination- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the headIf none of these examinations indicate that you should not resume driving, you will be allowed to drive from one MRI to the next (i.e. for a 3-month interval).
