The lung transplant pulmonology and adult cystic fibrosis research team is dedicated to improve improved outcomes by optimized personalized diagnostic and treatment strategies focusing on standardized approaches and empowering patients in the process. Part of the standardization is personalized medicine approach using bio-markers for example for immunosuppression guidance and extra-pulmonary organ systems are treated both in lung transplant recipients and persons living with cystic fibrosis. Interdisciplinary work and research with nursing professionals, basic scientists, surgical specialists, immunologists and other organ specialists is a key element of our team approach for advancing the field.

Optimisation of Tacrolimus immunosuppression to prevent adverse outcomes
Outcome research analysing predictors or favourable and unfavourable outcomes to optimize selection and pre-treatment of candidates
Treatment options for chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD), in particular with extracorporeal photophoresis and immunomodulatory treatments.
Retrospective outcome research to continuously be informed on trends and new challenges: focus on quality outcomes and dealing with limited resources in a medium volume transplant center
