The Department of Cardiology is a leading national and international reference center for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Building on our decades-long university tradition, we follow an evidence-based, holistic and above all patient-centered philosophy. At the University Heart Center, we work closely with our partner clinics, particularly in cardiac surgery.

Best specialist clinic in Switzerland 2024
In the “Best Specialist Clinics” ranking by the market research company Statista and the Handelszeitung newspaper, the cardiology department at the USZ came first in the cardiology specialty, as it did last year. At 93.42 out of a maximum of 100 points, the score is even slightly higher than in the previous year. It therefore achieved the best score of all clinics analyzed in the 2024 ranking.
