H215O Water PET (Neurology)

H215O is weakly radioactively labeled water. H215O is the best tracer for studying brain perfusion. The examination is carried out before surgical revascularization measures in the brain.

Indications

The following indication is covered by health insurance:

  • Perfusion measurement before and after cerebral revascularization interventions in Moyamoya disease.

H215O-PETfor other diseases (e.g. critical stenosis of the neck vessels, stroke) is unfortunately not covered by health insurance. For this indication, a cost approval must be obtained in advance from the referring doctor, or the costs incurred must be borne in part by the patient.
