Research Group PD Dr. med. Daniel Hofmänner

Our group investigates the role of lipids in sepsis, therapeutic drug monitoring in critically ill patients, and strategies to improve ICU patient safety. Our research explores how inflammation affects blood lipid profiles and their potential as treatment targets. We also evaluate drug monitoring effectiveness in patients on extracorporeal support and use eye tracking to assess clinical awareness and reduce human error.

Projects

  • Assessment of the impact of lipid alterations on outcomes in patients with cardiogenic shock
  • Assessment of the impact of lipid alterations on infectious complications in patients with cardiogenic shock

  • Influence of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation on serum levels of antimicrobial substances
  • Influence of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation on drug dosing of antimicrobial substances

  • Analysis of visual behaviour of critical care professionals
  • Assessment of situational awareness during high-risk interventions
