Acid-base and electrolyte disorders treatment

Diseases caused by acid-base and electrolyte imbalances are either acidosis or alkalosis, depending on whether they are caused by acidosis or alkalinization. According to studies carried out in recent years, the treatment of metabolic acidosis can lead to a slowing down of chronic renal insufficiency.

Acid-base and electrolyte disorders are therefore a focus of research at our clinic, giving patients the additional opportunity to benefit from the latest knowledge and treatment options in this area.

Our clarification and treatment options

The Nephrology Clinic offers specialized clarification for acid-base and electrolyte disorders. This includes special tests (e.g. ammonium chloride load test, furosemide fludrocortisone test, etc.) and – if necessary – corresponding genetic tests.
