In the obstetrics department of the USZ, patients with general health insurance are accommodated in a maximum of three-bed rooms, semi-privately insured patients in two-bed rooms. If you would like additional comfort or extended medical care during your stay, the following upgrade options are available:
The room upgrade gives you access to a single room and free overnight accommodation for a relative in the room – medical services and other comfort services are excluded. Enjoy more privacy during your stay.

The Medico Upgrade allows you to be treated by a senior doctor – even without upgrading your room and comfort services. Ideal for patients who attach particular importance to extended medical care.
With the full upgrade, you combine both options: You benefit from accommodation in a single or twin room and various comfort services and are also looked after by a senior doctor. For an all-round comfortable and individually supervised stay.
The obstetrics department at the USZ only has a limited number of single rooms. Whether the upgrade can actually be granted depends on the actual occupancy situation in the clinic. Patients with supplementary insurance have priority when claiming rooms.
