The University Hospital Zurich (USZ) is opening its new inpatient ward for obstetrics. With state-of-the-art rooms and proximity to cutting-edge medical care, it offers the best conditions for individualized care and maximum safety for pregnant women and new mothers.
With the newly renovated ward, the USZ is further expanding its role as an international center of excellence for obstetrics. The new rooms offer high-quality furnishings and a wonderful view of the city, lake, and mountains, creating the ideal conditions for “becoming a family.”
“We stand for obstetrics that combines state-of-the-art medicine with humanity – as little surgery as possible, but always as much as necessary,” says Nicole Ochsenbein-Kölble, Director of the Department for Obstetrics. A team of various specialists, including midwives, obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatologists, provides round-the-clock care for women before, during, and after childbirth. The focus is on medical safety and the well-being of the mother, child, and—of course—the father. The new ward will officially begin operations on December 9, 2025.
