Advice on suspected breast cancer (consultation)

As a university breast center, we offer state-of-the-art therapies.

Breast cancer advice

The breast consultation is the first port of call for women with breast cancer. These include:

  • Chest pain
  • Unclear palpation findings
  • conspicuous changes, visible via mammography or ultrasound
  • Information on the various treatment options for breast cancer (oncology consultation); this also includes obtaining a second opinion

Hereditary breast cancer

In most cases, breast cancer occurs by chance and is therefore not inherited. But there are also forms that can be passed on to the next generation. If such an inherited breast cancer is present, the risk of developing ovarian cancer increases.

If hereditary breast or ovarian cancer is suspected, we offer genetic counseling. Based on the family members’ previous illnesses, we can find out whether a hereditary form of breast or ovarian cancer is likely to be present. This can also be confirmed or refuted by genetic analysis.

Fertility preservation in young women with breast cancer

A young patient’s family planning is often not yet complete. Before undergoing breast cancer treatment, the question therefore arises as to what options are available to realize a later desire to have children after treatment. In cooperation with the Clinic for Reproductive Endocrinology, we offer detailed consultations.
