Gender dysphoria consultation hour
We care for people with gender dysphoria in close interdisciplinary cooperation with the Clinics for Consultative Psychiatry and Psychosomatics, Reconstructive Surgery, Ear, Nose, Throat and Facial Surgery (ORL Phoniatrics Department) and Dermatology.
Hormone therapy is individually tailored to promote desired gender-specific characteristics and minimize undesirable changes. Typical treatment options include:
- Oestrogens to promote female characteristics
- Testosterone blockers to inhibit male characteristics
- Testosterone to promote male characteristics
Treatment is carried out under medical supervision. Psychological and medical support accompany the process. Fertility preservation (e.g. freezing of sperm or eggs) can be carried out before starting treatment. We also offer gynecological care and advice on contraception.
