The Day of Clinical Research of the Directorate of Research and Teaching at the USZ was celebrated for the 25th time on May 21, 2026. The focus was on excellent research papers and presentations on the day's topic "Wearables - from research to the clinic".
The annual event kicked off with awards for outstanding research achievements. This year’s Georg Friedrich Götz Prize for Medical Research went to Dr. Dr. med. univ. Raphael Johannes Morschner from the Institute of Oncology and Hematology at the University Children’s Hospital Zurich for his work on the function and therapy of polyamine metabolism in neuroblastoma tumors.

Wearables – from research to the clinic
The morning ended with the poster session. The afternoon was dedicated to the topic of the day “Wearables – from research to the clinic”. Wearables with applications in reproductive medicine, sleep stimulation, sweat analysis, monitoring of systemic rheumatic diseases and diabetology were presented. The presentations were supplemented by a contribution on the development of artificial intelligence for the clinic.
