Immunology, Immunogenetics, Stemcell transplantation
We aim to improve the outcome after stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies by leveraging immunogenetics and novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in the area of immunology.
Our research group at CCCZ focuses on the immunogenetics of stem cell transplantation (SCT) and cellular therapies, exploring how genetic variations influence transplant outcomes and immune responses. We investigate HLA (human leukocyte antigen) diversity and polymorphisms, particularly in donor-recipient matching, as well as pre-transplant allo-immune responses to optimize engraftment, graft-versus-leukemia effects while minimizing graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). We also investigate immune reconstitution post-transplantation in the setting of immunerespones generated against vaccine and microbial antigens.
