Head and neck tumors (oral cavity cancer) Surgical treatment

The treatment of tumors of the oral cavity and jaw is one of the main focuses of the MKG.

In addition to survival, quality of life is at the center of surgical therapy. Today, digital techniques make it possible to individually reconstruct the bony structures of the lower jaw and midface. These digital techniques are routinely used at the Clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The Clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery works closely with a specialist in tumor prosthetics to provide dentures. The Outpatient Clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the airport carries out dental examinations prior to radiotherapy and, if necessary, prepares dental splints for fluoridation and radiotherapy.
