Acute kidney failure treatment

The main therapeutic focus in acute kidney failure is on treating the underlying problem. Dialysis treatment may become necessary. Particularly in older patients and patients with multiple illnesses, acute kidney failure often only recovers incompletely, meaning that kidney function is often impaired.

Our clarification and treatment options

All examinations for the diagnosis and treatment of acute kidney failure are routinely carried out at our center. In addition, we provide 24-hour emergency care with intensive treatment to initiate dialysis if a renal replacement procedure is indicated.

Every year, the Department of Nephrology treats a large number of patients with a loss of kidney function. This ranges from a short-term deterioration as part of an acute illness to patients with multiple organ failure who are treated in our intensive care units.
