Our team of experienced doctors and midwives will accompany you personally throughout your pregnancy. With the help of state-of-the-art ultrasound and diagnostic procedures, we offer pregnancy checks based on the latest scientific findings – individually tailored and closely monitored even in cases of increased risk. With competent advice and empathetic support, we are at your side in every situation.
Uncomplicated pregnancies
For pregnant women without particular risks, the checks are carried out at the intervals specified by specialist associations – usually every 4 to 6 weeks. Each check includes, among other things:
- Measurement of blood pressure and weight
- Urine tests
- Monitoring the child’s heartbeat and development
- Discussion of your well-being and your questions
- At least two comprehensive ultrasound examinations, including organ screening
- Advice on vaccinations and laboratory tests
- Preliminary talks on the birth procedure
- Regular postnatal checks and specialized pelvic floor checks
Midwife care possible
You can also have some of your pregnancy checks carried out by our midwives, who will be happy to see you during their consultation hours. The ultrasound examinations at the recommended times are carried out by our doctors. The alternating midwife-doctor model allows you to benefit from the expertise of both professional groups.
For individual support during your pregnancy, we make sure that you have fixed contact persons in our clinic.
High-risk pregnancies: close monitoring for your safety
If you or your baby have additional risks – for example due to previous illnesses, multiple pregnancies, increased age, abnormal blood values or complications in the current or a previous pregnancy – the checks are carried out at shorter intervals and with extended diagnostic measures. These include:
- More frequent ultrasound examinations (e.g. for high blood pressure, diabetes, multiple births)
- Additional laboratory diagnostics and special screenings
- Close coordination with other specialist disciplines (e.g. diabetology, cardiology)
- Individual advice, including for pre-existing illnesses or complications during pregnancy
You also have the option of being accompanied by our midwives for high-risk pregnancies. It can be particularly helpful for high-risk pregnancies to be able to talk about worries and fears during midwife consultations.
Prenatal diagnostics and NIPT
Our prenatal center also offers state-of-the-art prenatal diagnostics. These include:
- Ultrasound examinations for comprehensive assessment of the child’s development (e.g. early ultrasound, organ screening)
- The first trimester test (ETT) uses ultrasound and blood values to estimate the risk of chromosomal disorders such as trisomy 21.
- The non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) is a safe blood test that is possible from the 10th week of pregnancy and assesses the risk of the most common chromosomal disorders (e.g. trisomies 21, 13, 18) with a high degree of reliability – without intervention and therefore without risk to the child.
- A placental biopsy (chorionic villus sampling) is an examination from 11 weeks of pregnancy in which tissue is removed from the placenta in order to carry out genetic analyses. Another alternative is amniocentesis, which is normally possible from 15 weeks of pregnancy.
- Advice and, if necessary, further clarification if risk factors or abnormal findings are present
- Risk calculation for pre-eclampsia (pregnancy poisoning)
