Autologous fat transfer

Missing volume can be restored through autologous fat transfer. If the regenerative properties of the stem cell-like cells contained in the fat are to be used instead of a volume effect, a nanofat treatment is used.

Autologous fat injections in the face

With age, the skin loses elasticity and becomes saggy, causing wrinkles to form. This is further exacerbated by dwindling fatty tissue in the face. Even with major weight loss, fatty tissue is involuntarily lost from the face, which can lead to a sunken face.

This missing volume can be built up again using autologous fat injections. Liposuction is first performed on the abdomen, flanks and/or thighs. The fat obtained in this way is then injected back into the area of the face to be filled.

Part of the volume can be broken down again by the body over time. It is therefore possible that another autologous fat injection will be recommended. The operation is usually performed under general anesthesia in a day clinic setting.

Nanofat treatment

Nanofat treatment is used when the regenerative properties of the stem cell-like cells contained in the fat (adipose-derived stromal cells/ADSCs) are to be utilized rather than achieving a volume effect through autologous fat transplantation.

With the nanofat treatment, scars can be regenerated, made significantly softer and often less noticeable. Reddened and raised or retracted scars are particularly suitable. It is also suitable for treating fine skin wrinkles, for example on the upper lip or in the décolleté. It can also improve pigmentation disorders, such as age spots and dark circles under the eyes. It can also be used to improve the healing of chronic wounds.

The fat can be harvested under local anesthesia or general anesthesia and is processed using a special method so that it can be injected directly into the skin as a liquid.
