Plastic surgery is any form of surgery performed on the organs and formations of the body surface for functional or aesthetic/cosmetic reasons.

  • Reconstructive surgery deals with the restoration of lost structures or functions. This includes coverage of skin soft tissue loss, as well as reconstruction of nerve or muscle loss of motion.
  • The
    Aesthetic Surgery
serves the correction of shape disorders, taking into account the individuality of the patient. Thus, surgical correction of conspicuous shape disorders from which the patient suffers can decisively improve his or her sense of well-being.
  • The
    Hand Surgery
deals with problems of the hand and wrist, whether they are congenital, traumatic, degenerative, inflammatory or tumorous in origin. The goal is to restore the function of the hand. The spectrum of hand surgery is broad and requires a variety of different surgical skills.
  • Burn surgery: Within the framework of highly specialized medicine (IVHSM), we assume the function of a center for the treatment of burn patients in German-speaking Switzerland.
  • Sarcoma surgery: The therapy of bone and soft tissue sarcomas is highly complex and interdisciplinary, it is mainly co-determined by the underlying biology of the tumor. Some sarcomas are treated only surgically; for others, combination therapy with radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy must be defined.

The Clinic for Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery offers the entire spectrum of plastic surgery, hand surgery, burn medicine and sarcoma surgery.
