Launched in 2004 as the first thoracic surgery clinic in Switzerland, today nearly half of all anatomic lung resections at the USZ are performed with the Da Vinci System.
In addition to the further development of the Da Vinci and the instrumentation, standardized surgical procedures with pre- and postoperative “briefings” modeled on the checklists used in aviation also play an important role in patient safety and the training of the entire surgical team.
