Clinical Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in Intensive Care Medicine

Our research group uses clinical data, data science and artificial intelligence to address research questions in intensive care medicine.

We have access to a broad range of routinely collected ICU data, including physiological time series, laboratory results, treatments and clinical documentation. Our secure computing infrastructure within the University Hospital Zurich enables us to analyse sensitive clinical data and run AI models, including large language models, locally.

Our work combines clinical expertise with methods from statistics, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Collaboration

Collaboration is a central part of our research. We work closely with clinical and scientific groups within intensive care medicine on a broad range of research questions, including projects on delirium and other aspects of critical illness.

We also collaborate with academic partners including ETH Zurich, the University of Zurich (UZH) and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), bringing together expertise from medicine, data science, informatics and related fields.

We welcome new collaborations that combine clinically relevant questions with data-driven methods, machine learning or artificial intelligence.
