Repeated miscarriages are a major and stressful problem for many couples. We clarify the factors that have been identified today and initiate the necessary treatments.
Miscarriages are often triggered by several simultaneously occurring causes (anatomical changes, genetic, microbiological, hormonal, coagulation-physiological and immunological factors), which together lead to miscarriages. Our investigations, which include the following examinations, are correspondingly diverse:
Karyotyping: Analysis of the chromosomes of both parents to identify possible genetic causes. Usually carried out after other tests.
Uterine examination: examination of the uterine structure (e.g. by water ultrasound) for malformations or adhesions; if necessary, taking a sample to clarify chronic inflammation.
Antiphospholipid syndrome: Test for certain antibodies if this syndrome is suspected.
Thyroid function: clarification of possible thyroid disorders that can promote miscarriages.
Immunological clarification: Special consultation to investigate possible immunological causes in collaboration with specialists.
