Conservative therapy of benign diseases

These include condylomas and other benign diseases (e.g. ectopia).

Procedure

In addition to laser therapy, there are various other treatment options for the removal of genital warts. These are carried out partly by a doctor and partly by the patient herself. Immunotherapy with Imiquimod (Aldara®) has become established. Other substances available as ready-to-use preparations such as podophyllotoxin (Condyline Lin®) and green tea polyphenols (Veregen®) are also used. Cryotherapy (freezing of the warts) and applications of trichloroacetic acid (cauterization of the warts) may also be suitable for treatment in selected cases. The latter treatments occasionally require several sessions. The ideal treatment option is determined individually during a detailed discussion in the dysplasia consultation.
