Fellowship in cardiac SPECT CT PET and hybrid imaging

This fellowship at Zurich University Hospital draws from our vast experience with cardiac SPECT, coronary artery and calcium scoring CT, PET and hybrid imaging. Notably we have several years of experience with a CZT based ultrafast cardiac SPECT camera.

The fellows typically come for 2 weeks. During this time they have access to a vast number of cases which they will work up on their own and then discuss with competent staff. The cases analyzed are the cases of the day as well as cases from an “interesting case” data base. Daily formal lectures and hands-on experience on workstations to reformat SPECT data, coronary CT data and software integration of these data sets are provided.

A work day looks as follows:

  • 45 minute lecture on technology or clinical issues related to Cardiac Imaging
  • hands-on scan acquisition: daily low-dose CT-angiography acquisition, Nuclear MPI scanning with special focus on CZT high-speed SPECT camera
  • hands-on scan analysis: CT coronary angiography and calcium score, nuclear scans and cardIQfusion for hybrid images under supervision of an expert staff member
  • self study of daily cases as well as teaching cases from a large data base Discussion of daily and teaching cases with a staff physician

Due to the intense hands-on teaching this course accepts no more than 2 fellows per period.
