We offer the entire spectrum of morphological diagnostics (analysis of tissue samples) and are responsible for training and further education in the field of pathology. One focus of our institute is clinically oriented research using molecular methods.

The institute consists of the departments:
To ensure a high level of diagnostic competence, all difficult diagnoses (malignant tumors) are assessed by at least two FMH pathologists and all samples are processed in accordance with permanently updated diagnostic guidelines. The clinical data and histological findings are stored electronically. Histological sections are archived for at least 15 years. The throughput times for sample processing are recorded continuously.
Quality management at the institute
The aim of the institute is to provide highly specialized diagnostics at university level, for which we have been accredited in accordance with the ISO 15189 and ISO/IEC 17020 standards. See also Quality assurance at the Institute.
