Legal basis
Abortions in Switzerland are regulated by the time limit solution (according to Art. 119 + 120 of the Swiss Criminal Code). It is therefore important that you seek advice as early as possible.
During the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, you as a woman can decide whether you want to carry the pregnancy to term, terminate it or give the child up for adoption after birth. There must be a medically justified reason for an abortion after the 12th week of pregnancy.
Services
Before the free consultation, a vaginal ultrasound examination is carried out. After a medical examination, the consultation takes place at our conflict counseling center. You can discuss your personal situation in a consultation. We will provide you with the information you need to support you in your decision. If required, we can also arrange further internal and external support services. If you decide to terminate your pregnancy during the consultation, we will initiate the necessary steps for a medical or surgical abortion.
After an abortion
As you can ovulate again and become pregnant immediately after the abortion, we will be happy to advise you on the choice of a safe contraceptive method. If required, a consultation appointment can be organized at the internal family planning advice centre.
Costs
The costs of abortion are covered by health insurance (less deductible and excess).
