Accompanying complementary medical treatment for oncological diseases

Patients who wish to receive complementary medical treatment alongside or following their cancer therapy have the opportunity to receive advice and treatment at our outpatient clinic.

Important areas are:

  • Stress regulation / relaxation

  • Self-care measures (e.g. acupressure)
  • Cognitive impairment during chemotherapy

Mind Body Medicine also offers the option of group treatments. These groups are led by doctors and psychologists and comprise ten sessions.

Exercise and relaxation are two important resources that can significantly improve the quality of life of oncology patients. One advantage of yoga is that it combines exercise and relaxation. The exercise sequences are structured in such a way that you are supported in your personal needs and possibilities.

Eating healthy bones – preventing osteoporosis in breast cancer patients

Osteoporosis is a very common disease that mostly affects women with breast cancer. In this group treatment, breast cancer patients undergoing anti-hormonal therapy learn about aspects of a healthy diet and which foods can have a positive effect on bone health.

The Institute for Complementary and Integrative Medicine specializes in integrative medicine and also teaches and conducts research in this field. It is well networked both nationally and internationally. The range of therapies on offer has been coordinated with the services of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Zurich, among others.
