Gastric and esophageal tumor center

At the Gastric and Esophageal Tumor Center of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Zurich, we offer the entire spectrum of screening, diagnostics, therapy and follow-up care for gastric and esophageal cancer in all stages. Special emphasis is placed on state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgical techniques (including robotic-assisted surgery) and precision oncology.

The prerequisite for successful tumor therapy is close interdisciplinary cooperation between the treating physicians. With this daily lived concept we develop a tailor-made therapeutic strategy for each of our patients. The integrative approach at the Gastric and Esophageal Cancer Center includes interdisciplinary consultations, advanced imaging and molecular diagnostics, state-of-the-art surgical and radiotherapeutic procedures, and targeted systemic and immunotherapies. As a university hospital, the clinical implementation of innovations from research is also an important concern for us.
The constant exchange with our first-class anesthesiologists and intensive care physicians and the consistent use of minimally invasive surgical procedures enable us to provide safe and at the same time gentle surgical care – this also applies to high-risk patients.
