Diagnostic and Treatment Services
The Skin Cancer Center at the USZ Department of Dermatology offers a full range of services for the early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care of skin cancer. It is divided into the following sections: Treatment, Non-melanoma Skin Cancer, and Early Detection. The Skin Tumor Center is supported by the departments of the Dermatology Clinic.
The Skin Tumor Center’s particular strength lies in its interdisciplinary collaboration with the other clinics and departments at the USZ. As a result, the Skin Cancer Center at the University Hospital of Zurich guarantees first-class patient care by international standards.
At the Skin Center’s outpatient clinic, all types of skin cancer (melanoma, lymphoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and Merkel cell carcinoma) are treated systemically; each year, the USZ Skin Tumor Center performs over >300 tumor-specific therapies.
The dermatosurgical department has access to the hospital’s operating rooms and provides surgical treatment for skin cancer. Our in-house dermatopathology department provides histological evaluation to support the accurate diagnosis of skin cancer. The “Physical Therapy” department offers, among other things, photodynamic therapy and radiation therapy.
Closely linked to the Skin Tumor Center are the clinical trials in the field of malignant skin diseases.
