Breastfeeding advice

Breastfeeding is not only the most natural form of infant feeding, but also a precious moment of bonding between mother and child. In our breastfeeding consultation, we support you sensitively, individually and competently so that you feel safe during this special time. We are there for you before, during and after the birth to answer any questions and help you overcome any difficulties.

Your well-being and that of your child are our main focus. At our outpatient clinic in Zurich, we support you on your personal path to ideal nutrition for your baby. Whether you had your baby with us or somewhere else, you can rely on our professional support – for a breastfeeding period tailored to mother and child right from the start.

Breastfeeding is not only a natural way to feed babies, but also has numerous health benefits for mother and child:

  • Breastfeeding is healthy and practical. Breast milk is always available and always at the optimum temperature, which makes everyday life much easier for mothers.
  • Breastfeeding strengthens the bond between mother and baby. The hormone oxytocin released during breastfeeding has a stress- and pain-relieving effect, creates harmony and supports the mother-child bond.
  • Breast milk contains all the necessary nutrients for the healthy development of the baby. It also contains a large number of other components. These support various functions, such as immune defense, metabolism, the maturation of organs, the promotion of healthy intestinal flora and the regulation of hunger, satiety and sleep.
  • Breast milk adapts to the needs of the child. The composition of breast milk changes over the course of breastfeeding. In the first few days after birth, it contains particularly high levels of antibodies that protect the newborn. Breast milk is a unique food for the optimal development and health of the baby.
