Procedure
In most cases, it is necessary to lift, enlarge, or reduce the healthy side. In particular, we use autologous fat transplantation (“lipofilling”) to correct asymmetries in order to achieve the best possible final result. Corrective surgery should be performed approximately six months after breast reconstruction, at a time when the internal scars have healed, the tissue has “softened” and no further changes in shape are to be expected. Depending on the type of procedure, the patient may be treated on an outpatient basis or may require a short hospital stay (two to three days).
