Aldo Di Costanzo Mata, BORL member and ETH Zurich doctoral student at D-HEST, studied a bachelor’s degree on Biomedical Engineering at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), México. Then a master’s degree on Industrial Physics Engineering at the Nuevo León State University (UANL), México, with a thesis project on functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) in the Andrew Berger Biomedical Spectroscopy Laboratory of the University of Rochester (UofR), NY, USA. He joined the BORL group at the University Hospital of Zurich in 2017 to do his doctoral studies on the Pioneer project working on the thesis “Time-resolved near-infrared optical tomography for imaging of cerebral oxygenation to detect ischemia in preterm infants”.
