Computed Tomography Physics

The CT physics group deals with technical aspects of CT imaging in clinical routine and research. Together with our clinical colleagues, we conduct innovative research on a wide range of CT topics including fast-scanning techniques, reconstruction and post processing methods, dose calculation and optimization.

Our investigations aim to improve image quality while keeping CT safe and comfortable for all patients. The most recent activity is focused on accurate patient-specific radiation dose assessments as well as on the development, evaluation and implementation of dose reduction algorithms. Due to our close collaboration with leading CT groups and vendors, we have the opportunity to use state-of-the-art imaging equipment and access the research platforms to develop new imaging methods and applications.
