Emergency Radiology Imaging Group

The Emergency Radiology Imaging Group is an interdisciplinary research group in the Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland. The group forms a cohesive center for faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, and research staff to pursue teaching and research in emergency imaging.

In close collaboration with various clinical sections at the University Hospital Zurich (Department of Trauma Surgery, Department of Internal Medicine, Department of Visceral and Transplant Surgery), the Emergency Radiology Research Group aims to integrate research and builds collaborations between scientists, physicians, radiologists, and industry establishing a strong resource for imaging-based research at the University of Zurich.

Current projects include the development of optimized whole-body CT protocols for polytrauma patients, the research of radiation dose saving techniques for CT imaging in the emergency unit, the implementation of the Zurich Trauma Algorithm, and evaluation of chest pain protocols in the emergency department.
